Back in San Francisco...

By my teaser last time, I travelled to a new city, San Francisco. I flew out (with Mel) to see one of my best friends wed. It was a chance of a lifetime; I had to do it. I'd kick myself if I didn't.

Here's the beautiful couple. I'm beyond words happy for them. A great day.

My Visit to Southern California... (Forewarning, this will be long. I need to catch you up.)

Since, I'm only taking two classes at the moment; I had a few days during fall break to go with my friend Melanie to see The Wilde's & The Meldrum's. I always enjoy the small amount of time I get to see them. This time, there was two more on the way. Alas, one Meldrum, Alice, has made it safely. The other, a Wilde, will soon join us. an't wait.

Here's my itinerary of fun:

Day 1: Mel & I flew out early Thursday morning. We made it into LA around 1030 am PST. Everything was smooth from getting to the airport, through security, on the plane, the flight, off the plane, getting out bags, flagging down the rental car shuttle, choosing our rental car, and making it to Kelsi & John's house with little traffic. Melanie Wilde (I'll try to keep both of them straight.) was at work; so, Kelsi was tending Mel's kids. That sure was nice of her. Replaying that moment in my mind's eye brings happy tears to my eyes, steaming up the ol' eyeglasses.

After many hours catching up with Melanie, Melanie, & Kelsi; & a nap, I got one of my wishes for this trip granted. Melanie, John, & I headed into Hollywood to see Maria Taylor with Melanie's husband, Lin. We got there a few minutes ahead of Lin. My eyes aren't what they used to be, but I thought I could see Lin. As he got closer, he had a beard. It wasn't a 4 month long grow-a-thon as mine is. (Happy 5Now, I put 1+1 together. Norah, Melanie & Lin's daughter, told me Daddy was going to be Van Gogh. She even whispered secrets to Melanie telling her about the beard. I thought she was great, but the opener, Big Harp, stole it for me. I didn't have any expectations, & they were throurghly blown. See for yourself..

.

I bought their album.  It hasn't left the car in a month.  The CD came with a comp (Punk term for compilation of various artists.) that had this...

I listen to this daily if not multiple times during my jaunts around Logan.  If you don't listen to any of my video's, please do yourself a favor & try this on for size.  This song gives me hope.

Day 2: Uncle Walt's! Sadly The Meldrum's couldn't join; Kelsi was 9+ months pregnant. I'm surprised Melanie made it being 8+ months along.  Bless her heart.  Here's the few pictures:

The Girls (Melanie W., Norah, & Melanie L.)

The Boys (Me, Tommy, & Lin)

Damned Teacups (NEVER again. Sorry, Norah.)

Day 3: Recovery & Amoeba.  After 2 days of running non stop, my body shut down.  I'm like a toddler meaning I need copious amounts of sleep.  I don't function without it.  I become my most vulnerable to things around me.  The Wilde's had a ward party; I stayed behind to play some Wii basketball with John & Jake. It was a lot of fun.  Kinda like the real thing.  Amoeba is my mecca. I've been collecting records for the better part of my life; most of you know that.  This place I can pretty much find anything I ever wanted or needed in one store.  It's truly amazing.

Day 4: Melanie was sick.  It's not a trip to Southern California without a sick body. I feel horrible. Melanie, Lin, & I packed up the kids and met The Meldrums at the park.  It was a great way to end our trip.  I hate to see them end.  I dread it before I even leave Utah.  The pull of Logan is too great right now.  I've got things to finish up here. I miss them all daily & can't wait till our next adventure.  (March.)

Last, one of my favorite bands of all time reunited, ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT!!! I am overly exstatic about this.  When I found this, I wanted to shout an emphatic "HELL YES!" from the mountain tops. Alas, it was this one time.  If any of you see this episode, I need to know ASAP.  I NEED to see it.  There are also rumblings of a tour next year.  I'm saying my prayers & crossing my fingers this happens.

See you in the future...

(Next time...  San Francisco.)

On the Pre-Eve of Vacation...

There's something that I've been keeping a secret... I have a girlfriend; I wish. (Mom wishes more.) I quit my job last week. In all honesty, the biggest reason, I wasn't happy. Most of you know, I struggle with depression for most my adult life. I've come to realize; life is too short to be unhappy. I try to live my life with no ups or downs. I like to keep an even keel. The job was crampin on that. I over-stayed my welcome at Icon, 6 years too long by my estimation. There are other reasons that I won't discuss. I know I'm a much happier person. I will miss many of the people that I met, but Logan is small. My plan is to enjoy my vacation a TON, come back to Logan, focus on my classes, & then start looking for job. I've got a lot things mulling around in my head. You'll just have to see which one pops out.

So.... I leave on Thursday morning to visit my dear friends the Wildes & the Meldurms. Both are expecting at any moment which means I may witness miracles. (?) A lot is planned, but you all prolly know, my Uncle Walt asked me to visit. It'll be my 10th trip in 10 years to see him. The first one is kinda a funny story. Although, I'll tell it another time.

Happy Birthday wishes go to my Mom. You may know her as Bernice. AND my 3rd nephew Owen. He's the big # 4.

Also, my brother Dave, Geek~lee~tist, is doing gallery stroll this Friday. Please support. I will in thought.

See you in the future... Others sooner than you think.

Quickly... USU Autumn Voices

I've been going to Autumn Voices at Utah State University the last three years.  I'm honored to have a couple of friends, TJ & Chris, sing in this great event.  If you've never been, do yourself a favor & go.

The Women's Choir at Utah State covered this.  It was amazingly done; I wish I had there version.

And... Wuth the way I've been feeling this helped me out a ton.  I may have been the only one to drop a few tears.

Online Dating...

I'm on an online dating site. They try their damnedest to find me some. My one observation from all this is 99.01% of the ladies like to camp.  Let me say here, I do NOT. (I'm going to change my intro to state this fact.)

Nothing new really.  I burning life at both ends. School is going well, but I'm sure beat. I'm up on campus a lot. I leave work Monday-Thursday & go to campus till 930, 1000 most nights.  I'm tired is an understatement.

Bought my ticket to see my Uncle Walt & all his friends.  Most especially, I get to see my dear, dear friends. I wish I could see them everyday, but I'm sorry to say I only see them a few short days outta the year.

I love this song.  I saw Eniac play the skateshop back in probably 2005. I was blown away. Hope you are too.

Go Brewers!

Happy Homecoming.

Quick, Before I Fall Asleep...

So tired...

School has alas begun. Yes, for those that doubt me (Bernie & Bernice), I'm back. I've got two classes, Economics 1500 & Statisitcs 2300. You're askin' yourself, "Sounds like tons o' fun." You're correct it is. I'm losing sleep because it's so much amusement. Actually, it is fun, except for homework & tests. This semester has even seen my return to campus during the day. It's great to walk the hallowed sidewalks (Walked by the likes of Jason, Aaron, Wade, Jon, Adam, Tori, Lisa, Melanie, Melanie, Kelsi, Martin, even Spencer.) every Tuesday & Thursday. So, I look at everything, take in the sites (wink). I'm an observant person. I catch things maybe others may not see. Say the flier for Homecoming next week. It mentions everything but the football game. Maybe, I'm wrong, but the majority of people will attend. So, I tend to notice people staring at me & EVEN giving me a double take. YES, me. I ask myself what's different than say two years ago. I'm still the handsome fellow you all know I am. Looking at my shadow, it dawns on me. I'm looking at spittin' sillohette of Jay Leno. My chin is huge. If I measured, it's an inch & a half. I'm hopin' everyone is enjoyin' the goods.

That's it.

Shout out to my niece & nephew, Madison & Harrison. HBD! Sorry, I missed it.

See you in the future...

How I Spent My Summer Vacation (2011 Edition)...

As you know, I caught up on all my reading. I read well past my goal of 12 books. I don't think I read a bad book. If I might make one suggestion, the last book I read or (re-read) was 13 Reasons Why. If you haven't heard of this novel by Jay Asher, please do yourself a favor & pick it up. It's a moving book about a boy & a girl. I don't want to give you too much, but it is about suicide. If you can't handle it, I understand, but really, it's about so much more.

I spent 1.5 lovely days in August with my friends, The Wildes (Lin, Melanie, Norah, Tommy, & little girl in the oven.) To me, it wasn't enuff time, but what I did get, refreshed me. We spent a lovely afternoon at the childrens museum. It was fun to see the kids interact with other they didn't know. (I love people watching. I could do it all day, especially on campus.) One didn't like the crowds too much; the other was a little more outgoing. I miss all my friends everyday.

I spent a week or two geeking out on The Big Bang Theory. I'm all caught up through season 3. If 4 had been out, I'd be there. It'll have to stew till Christmas break. As will all the books I want to read.

I've recently returned to thrift store shopping. I've had some good fortune as you saw with the Unicorns. That hasn't stopped. I'll post more photos of my finds the last few time out, but here's a teaser...

With that, I'll leave you with The Jesus & Mary Chain. Wait for my favorite part at 1:13. They kill me.

See you in the future...

PS... Wish me luck this semester.

The Ettes... (I know I talk about them A LOT. I just think you're pretty dumb if you're not on this boat.)

On the day I prayed they'd return to Salt Lake City, I'm having my own little concert in my room. Here's a couple of songs on MY set list for them...

The Ettes - Excuse by PressHere

http://blog.kexp.org/blog/2011/08/09/song-of-the-day-the-ettes-my-heart/

Last, my all tme favorite, I Wanna Go Home. (No clip. I'm pretty sure they don't play this ever.)

I saw The Ettes thrice, once in LA, while I was unemployed. I owe them a ton for
being part of the soundtrack to my happiest, albeit ruff, year. Thank you so much.

I'll leave you with a Tom sandwich... Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

August 15th, 2011...

Few things...

The Ettes have a new album...

I haven't heard it yet. I was hoping to buy it when they came through Utah. Sadly, they're not stopping here. I'll have to buy online. I understand when only four people show up to your last SLC show. I promise, cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye that I'll double that next time.

Second...

Sharks...

Check it out. Something all the kids should get into, but won't.

Third...

Hot Water Music is back recording new material. I'm very happy about this endeavor. All the side projects are great, but I'm glad they're back to their primary venture.

A side project...

Fourth...

Some of my finds at the DI. Many, many, many others to share soon.

Last...

I'm close to coming back to facebook. I don't know when it'll happen, but it will soon. I've got a new persona already. No picture yet. I'm working on it. One thing, I won't search you out; you gotta find me. Sorry. It's the way it's gotta be. You can do it; I know you can.

See you in the future...

Dear MW, (Oh, how badly I wish to use your name.)

I'm truly sorry you don't want to be my friend.

I knew from the moment we re-aquainted ourselves a few years back that you weren't the same person you were when we met in Logan. I'd feel sorry for you if you were. We evovle as human beings. The fact that you aren't "confortable" being friends with me boggles my mind. Friends keep in touch. Am I wrong? I would've given up had YOU not told me to tell you when I come down. I thought you'd like to see me, catch up. Guess not. Maybe, you tried. I just didn't take the hint. I'm glad you grew some balls and at least said so albeit in a text. I should've followed my gut back on December 27th, 2009. I knew I should never see you again then. I could've spared me this trauma. I got myself into a real rut processing this. I've dug myself out finally. Friends are really all the extended family I've got. If you don't want to be part of it, EFF OFF! Life will go on for me. I'm sorry you won't be a part of it.

Salt Lake City is small by comparison. I've been icing my shoulders for day we run into each other. You know it will come. I know it will come. Don't act like you even know who I am. I will promptly remind you of your choice and quietly move on with my life.

Good luck with the rest of your life,

Tom

I've Been Thinking...

Maybe I should get rid of my phone. It would save me $50 a month. I can put that towards more records or books. Hmmm...

Speaking of books...

I've hit the goal of 12 books this summer. Actually, I passed it last Saturday.

Here's what I've read...

1- The Hunger Games
2- Catching Fire
3- Mockingjay
4- 32 Candles
5- The Cardturner
6- The Castle in the Attic
7- Medium Raw
8- The Ranger's Apprentice: The Emperor of Nihon-Ja (10th book in a 10 book series.)
9- Brother Odd
10-You Couldn't Ignore Me if You Tried
11-The Giver (Found a sign copy at the DI... Booo Yeah!)
12-The Genius Wars
13-Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (Might be my favorite yet.)

More to come I'm sure... Travailling the greater Wasatch Front for book stores since Logan is without one of those too. (Hastings doesn't count. You find what you want in that store.)

Went to SLC to see Alkaline Trio last night. Once again, I fall in love with the opener. Last time it was American Steel. This time was The Smoking Popes. Alkaline Trio knows how to pick an opener. I bought everything they had on record at the merch table. (To bad my turntable is hooked up. Put that on my list of a billion things to do.)

I'll leave you with...

See you in the future...

Wendover, Wendunder...

I'm sure you're all wondering what I've been up to since our last get together. Well... I've got a lot to tell you.

On the 4th of May, I got off early from work. It's always nice to leave & start the weekend early. I ran home changed clothes, threw some extras in my overnight bag, and hightailed it to SLC. I needed to pick my brother, Chopper, & sister-in-law, Niki up to catch our ride. Our steed was the "fun" bus to Wendover to see Joan effing Jett. The "fun" bus wasn't so much fun as it was convienent. It was excellent not having to drive out there. Although, I would've for Joan. We arrived there with about an hour to spare. We hit the buffet. It was all you can eat mediocre food. I won't complain; it was free with the bus ride. Afterwards, we head over to the venue...

Joan was great. Except, I sat the whole time. I'm never one to shy away from my opinion about how I prefer a small intimate show as to ginormous mega shows (More in my next post.). I rocked as hard as I could sitting. She played the song I wanted to hear, Bad Reputation. She played all the hits plus some from her days in The Runaways. Always good to see her. Never know when her and the likes will stop playing. Gotta 'em while I still can. After the show, we're off to gamble...

We head over to the Rainbow. I don't know why we head over there. I've had some luck at the Rainbow before. It was the only other time I'd been to Wendover. Some friends & I headed there for something to do. I sat down at a slot and won $40 dollars or so. I'm eager to try & repeat. The bus ride has given us a coupon for free $5, plus a $5 dollar credit. All I have to give them is an email address. So, I've got $10 plus the $20 I've alotted myself buring a hole in my pocket. I sit down at one slot & rip through my credit. Nothing. We wander around. They get some drinks; I chew a rhythm to my gum. It's nearly time to catch the bus back. I hit the duty free shop & get myself a Dr. Chopper runs off the to the restroom. I go to sit by Niki whose sitting at a couple of slot machines. I got a few more dollars in my pocket. I slide a five into the machine, turn to her, and ask "Is this my machine?" I pull the lever. 7..........7.........X3... Comes up. I hear money climbing; Niki notices and asks, "Who much did you win?" I tell her I don't know 50.... 75.... 100.... It stops at $120. I'm in shock. I cash out. $120 in my pocket. What to do with it?

Say It Alice...

Unfortunately, not forever.

Finished The Hunger Games in 10 hours. So far so good. Moving on to the second tomorrow.

Went to Sean Kingston last week. He came to lil ol Logan to play at the university. I left after 6 songs otherwise I would have reeked havoc. I was tempted to run up to each and everyone of the guy with Beiber hair & mess it up. Wish I'd done at least one.

Joan Jett in t-minus 46 hours.

It's been far TOO long...

Sorry for the time between posts. The looooooooooooooooooooooooong Cache Valley winter finally got to me. It broke me. I doomed and gloomed through the last few months.I'm sure y'all don't want to hear about it. Today was the first nice day of the year. I wanted to soak up all the sun I could to get through the next wave.

My last english class was tonight. This class has been one of my favorites in my college career. Lest you forget, I was assigned to write my autobiography. That was interesting to look back on my life and try to create a story from it all. Next, I wrote Bernie's biography. I learned so much about him and his life. I'm grateful to him for letting me use him and his story. I'm sad to see this class go. I looked forward most Wednesday's especially the days our assignments were due. Those nights the class shared parts of their stories. I enjoyed hearing everyone read them the way they were meant. I swaer to the internets that I will continue writing my stories i.e. The Prussian Curling Team or September Day Parade and the many many more I got on the brain. Thank you, Bonnie.

My dance card is filling for the summer. On the 14th, I witnessed Bad Religion and Rise Against. It was a lot of fun. I only wished Bad Religion would have played longer and a encore from Rise Against. I've NEVER been to a show that the closer didn't have an encore. Next up... (Drum Roll...) Joan Jett in Wendover. That's right. I'm getting excited. It's next Friday. Chopper, Niki, and I are going to ride the fun bus. My close friend Ingrid is going to me us out there.

I'm looking forward to getting my blackheart t-shirt just like what's on the van. May 23 brings the Guitar Wolf to Utah. I KNOW. I never thought I'd see the day. I'm gonna throw all my monies towards these Japanese fellows. They gonna blow my ears off, but that's cool cause they're cool as hell. I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting or I may just go to get out of the valley. I almost forgot he Beach Boys and Sean Kingston.

With summer starting, I'm gonna read to my hearts content. I'm hoping to read a novel for very week of the summer starting with the Hunger Games. I've got people telling me it's a must read especially for guy like me that hearts young adult. I've got a stack of books staring me in the face as we speak. With Border's saying adios, I stocked up. I'll report how it's going.

Just an update on the dating game. There's no update. Sorry. I know you all expected me to announce at least me having a date. I'll be honest it's up there in the Top 5 Things I Hate to Do along with getting out of bed or fold socks. Yes, I think about these things.

On the brighter side... I shaved. On the darker side, I'm three weeks into growing it back. I'd forgotten how much razors are. I'll save the money and not shave.

Here's to SUMMER..............

April Fool's Day 2011...

At 1900 hours on March 25, 2011, I lost a friend. They had been with me through thick & thin. They travelled with me where ever I went. At a young age they travelled to Disneyland to visit our Uncle Walt. I watched them grow from a little guy to bigger than I've ever seen. It came time for them to go. It was a sad occasion for all, but it was time. They're always with me; some days more than others.

This is 3-1/2 months of growth. I didn't shave 'cept trim the mustache that whole time. It was time. Had I known how much attention I'd get, I would've done it sooner. Also, I forgot how much razors are.

I'm at an interesting part of my life. I've got a lot of things jumbled up in my pea-sized brain. I know they'll work out in the end. I just need to make a decision and run with it.

Now, off to school to get some work done.

New Me...

I know you're all wondering what I'm up to & how I'm looking. Well, let me show you...

The beard celebrated it's 3 month birthday on Monday. You probably can't tell, but the glasses are new too. They're the tinsiest bit bigger than the last pair. I absolutely love them. They were well worth the wait. (Can you match four "Ws" in one sentence?)

Thank the lord for spring. Just like Lorelei Gilmore who can feel the season's first snow; I too can feel spring time. Come on already & get here. I needs my sun.

Spring Break came and went. What did I do? Worked. Making the Benjamin's so I can spend my unbirthday in style. Maybe or maybe not Uncle Walt. Who knows? When is you ask? Soon.

Please cheer your hearts out for the Aggies tomorrow? They need all our help to vilify the NCAA committee.

It's late. Till next time...

See you in the future...

Man Crush Alert...

PS... I luv that my time stamp is on Pacific Coast Time.

February 23, 2011..

Ok... Let's go...

1- I'm writing you from my new laptop. Awesome, I know. I got a really good deal on it. It's so nice to have it with me up on campus. Most of you know of my fear of public places, the computer labs on campus are as public as they get. I'm scared to death of them. Plus, I can lay in bed, as I am now, & write you guys.

2- I've been reading my horoscope for religously for the better part of my life. You can believe my shock when I found out I am no longer a Capricorn. I found out Monday that I'm indeed a Sagatarius. I KNOW! Apparently, the witches and wizards added another sign. I don't know how I missed this. Just google 13 astrological signs. I'm gonna have to burn all my Capricorn stuff. This is gonna take some getting used to. Ask me about it in a few months & I'll let you know if I want to switch back.

3- I had an amazing week/ weekend with a few friends from Georgia. On Tuesday, my friend Carolyn came into town from SLC via Athens, GA. It was finally nice to meet her. We became friends on FB right before I quit. Since, we've been passing emails back and forth. Tuesday, I was to meet Carolyn, Mandilyn, James & kids at the shop to head out to LD's for aspectacular meal. That it was. I don't know why I'm not going out there more. I've got to put it into my rotation. Thursday, I left work a little early (More on that soon.) & met up with Mandilyn and Carolyn at Citrus and Sage. After a crepe, I took Carolyn up to campus. I gave her the now famous Tom tour. We hit all the sights. Ok... I showed her where she could become a True Aggie and the statue of Merlin Olsen. She's a big fan of Little House on the Prairie. Friday, after work, I headed to SLC to see the infamous Blackhole. I got into town a little early. So I picked up Mandilyn and headed over to the Tattoo Convention. That's where I met the rest of the people from Athens: Mike, Keith, Chris Parry & Chris Hamer. James was also in the booth. It was fun to finally meet them. My brother Dave has mentioned them quite a few times in conversations. From there, I took Carolyn to Burt's to see Blackhole. Saturday, I awoke in Eagle Mountain to fnd myself with a migraine. I had planned to interview my dad for my next installment of my English project, but could not do it. I felt better around 1730 & and headed to the convention for more fabulous people watching & art. It was a lot of fun.

4- The reason I left work early was for a doctors appointment. Just the eye doctor. I've got some new glasses coming my way. You're gonna be surprised.

5- Borders is on it's way out of Logan. It's a depressing scene to walk in there. Everything is 20-40% off. I'm stocking up on my reading material. Let me know if you want something, I'll check to see if they have it. This makes me sad. I've spent the last few Fridays in there wasting time before I head to the movie theater. Now what? Hastings?

I'll leave you with this...

Watch for the girl in the glasses... Mmmm...

See you in the future...

February 10th, 2011...

I'm sorry sorry for the delay between posts. I have been diligently writing my autobiography. Finally completed, I can spend some time on here.

1: I went to The Get Up Kids last Friday. I got a ticket from Jason for my birthday. Me, trying to keep up with my resolution of dating more, bought another ticket thinking I could find a date. Alas, no. It went unused, but I was glad to give the band more of my money. The Get Up Kids are in my Top Ten favorite bands. I love them, & they bring back so many fond memories of times gone by. From the first time I saw them at DV8 Basement with Drew, this makes show number 5. They've tied it up with... Drumroll... The Donnas (Rock 'n' Roll Machine, I'm an American Teenage Raider... Donna A. can take me away. She's one tall drink of water).

I get the chills every time they play this song live. I look up and think of people who should be there. As much as I don't want it too, life moves on, but you're in my thoughts more than you think. Especially, after writing my autobiography.

2: I've ventured into the world of online dating. It hasn't amounted too much, yet. One thing I will throw out to the inter webs... Ladies, I'm sure guys too, put your damn picture up if you're going to date online. No offense, but I pass right by you. We may be a match, but I'm not even going to pursue. I've grown balls & put a few up. Do yourself a favor & do the same.

3: Went up to the Bridal Faire again to find a lonely sister, but alas no such luck. I'll be honest; it scared me to death. Some one tried to sell me a ring. He didn't believe me that I was just walking through. Next year buddy.

4: With Valentine's Day on the horizon, I apologize in advance about my surliness. It's not a "holiday" I like much. I've thought many, many times that I should send flowers to myself, if just to get the whispers going in the other direction. I'll get through it. It would be nice once to spend it with some one other than me.

5: Last, everyone needs to buy the new Dave Hause album. It's amazing. I've loved everything he's done with The Loved Ones, but this truly hits my heart strings. The songs have so much feeling. Maybe, I just relate to the lyrics a lot or too much.

and a great cover of a Loved Ones song...

Hope all is well...

See you in the future...

Spring (HA!) Semester...

The new semester is upon me at the Utah State University. I've got an Economics online class & English 2010. In English, I'm currently writing my autobiography. If you've got any suggestions, I'm takin' 'em. I don't think my life is very interesting, but you might. Wish me luck this semester. I'm taking it more serious than last. I think I've found a recipe for success. Crossing my fingers.

I got my brand new spankin' ipod!!!

I scrimped & saved for months. Plus, my year end bonus helped A LOT. Thanks, Robert. It's a beautiful thing. Thanks to my friend Greg "Mother" Tucker for the discount. I can't wait to fill this up with everything I have & need.

Next on my list...
30th Anniversary Bad Religion Vinyl Box Set

I need this, & it's gonna happen. (Where's my sugar momma? Anyone...) I hope they're around when it does. I need to find a lay-away plan.

After, I went & bought a few records to fill it...

Bad Religion: The Dissent of Man (Congrats on finally making Targets: Promising Artists. It only took 30 years or so.)
Mumford & Sons: Sigh No More
Randy Newman: I love LA---Because I do love LA & ALL my peeps (Yes, I said peeps. Hi Jake, Norah, Georgia, Tommy, & Naomi).

To name a few. I got more, but I'm sure you don't want to hear about my limited edition, blue blah blah blah.

Also, dinner with my friends, Ingrid & Aaron, at Red Iguana II. So delicious. I could drink the salsa. I love these people. I can't wait to see them next month.

Loganites... If you see a three legged Jack Russell Terrier. I know of a family who is desperately looking for him. His names Rocco.

Last, I saw my campus crush yesterday. My heart skipped a beat. Now, I need to grow some &@!!$ & give it a go.

Hope all is well...

See you in the future...

Oh the New Year...

I've never been a fan of New Year's. I don't think I've gone out or did anything special since I've hit 30. This year I went to the basketball game and did laundry. I saw the ball drop in New York at 2200 my time & promptly went to bed. Actually, I went & read a book (Ranger's Apprentice #9, Halt's Peril... I highly recommend them if you are in need of some candy. Well written & fun characters that have grown before my eyes. The author's Australian; so I've had to wait a year between books to see what happens next.)

Anyway, New Year's always makes me think I want to happen in say 2011 that didn't in 2010. So here are a few things that I hope will happen in 2011... Hopefully, writing them here will help...

1- Date more... I say this every year. It still hasn't happened as much as I'd like. I'm just scared to death by it. It's just been easier to be by myself. I really like it, but that's what scares me. I plan I signing up for a online dating site that's not ldssingles.com. Any suggestions...

2- Get my savings rolling again... Before I was laid off I had quite a nest egg. It's now down to almost nil. It served me well, but I'll be happy when I can get where I want it. I'm still not spending one dollar bills or change. That seems to add up quick.

3- Remember school is still a high priority... I lost track of that fact. Fall semester didn't go as well as I'd like, but I passed. School & work is a lethal combo; I'd like to learn to cope with both.

4- Remember to be grateful for the things & people I have in my life. I get caught up in myself a lot. I try not to, but it's my nature.

5- Write more... I'm going to be posting life stories once a month. I need to get these down on "paper" before I forget.

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few.

Thank you for reading all of you...

See you in the future...

I've got to add this... Might be my new fav...

What the...

HELL is this?

I saw this while waiting for Barefoot Contessa to come back on...

I don't know if I have words to describe... I'm rolling my eyes & shaking my head. I will say this is worse than jeggings.
